You can throw rocks at the Natchez Trace from her home in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, about 20 minutes outside of Tupelo. You can hear the fond memories of then eleven year old Jordyn, (along with a big imagination) in songs like My Own, some of the lyrics being …"me, my horse and a dog named Spike, the dress mama made with the pretty white lace…swimming in the creek ‘til the sun light’s gone."

In just the fourth grade, her Mom remembers her running down the stairs of their home saying “Mama, listen to my song I wrote”. At age 10, she recorded a few cover songs at a local studio with money she received as a Christmas gift. Also around this time, Jordyn won an international talent contest in Louisville, KY. After her performance, she was approached by a lady that explained she was a talent scout for Ford Modeling in New York. The talent scout said she would love to talk to her about modeling in New York for Ford the upcoming summer. After correspondence with Ford, although very tempting, Jordyn declined so she could pursue her music.

At age 11, she made her first of many demo recordings at a studio in Nashville, TN. It was there that she met and started working with one of the studio owners, George Clinton. Sitting in the studio one day, she brought out a notebook of songs she had written. George looked through the notebook and really expressed to Jordyn the importance of songwriting and encouraged her to write more.
At age 12, she finished recording vocals for her first collection of songs she wrote or co-wrote for a CD called Tell Me A Story. Also, by this time, Jordyn learned the guitar. Jordyn had taken piano lessons for many years, but now loves the convenience of the guitar when performing at different venues.

At age 13, although Jordyn did not enter many talent contests, she won the finals of the Loretta Lynn talent search in Hurricane Mills, TN. Then she spent most of the next few years focusing on writing and performing at local venues.

Now sixteen years old, Jordyn Mallory has had the honor of opening concerts for Jake Owen, Crystal Gayle, Ronnie McDowell, Loretta Lynn and Emerson Drive. Jordyn is focusing on graduating one year early so she can better pursue her career in country music. After graduating, she plans on moving to Nashville and attending college there.

Jordyn is mature beyond her age and is smart to listen to the advice of a very important and influential person in the music industry.
